Cryolipolysis Treatment – is a non-invasive and non-surgical fat reduction procedure which selectively targets fat by freezing them. The basic principle of Cryolipolysis is freezing fat cells to cold temperature, which disrupts or breaks the cell membrane of the fat cells. This groundbreaking technology leverages controlled cooling to effectively reduce fat in specific areas of the body.
Step By Step Process
The Cryolipolysis process is based on the principle of controlled cooling of fat cells.
First a through consultation by our board certified dermatologist is done. The dermatologist then explains the pros and cons of the procedure to the client. During this consultation, goals and target areas will be discussed and a customised treatment plan is provided.
Treatment Area Selection:
Cryolipolysis can be applied to multiple areas such as abdomen, thighs, love handles, arms, back, and even the double chin. Our dermatologists, after examining, determines the applicator size, shape and time required based on your specific needs.
Body analysis of the patient is done. Then the selected treatment area is prepared measuring the amount of fat and the area that has dependent fat. Process is started by applying a gel pad and applicator. The gel pad protects the skin from frost bite due to the cooling device and ensures optimal contact during the process.
The Cryolipolysis device is then placed on the target area, which is followed by suction of the skin and underlying fat into applicator, followed by controlled cooling. During this phase, patients usually experience a sensation of cold, but it is generally well-tolerated.
Over the next 45-60 minutes, the cooling process begins to crystallize and freeze the fat cells. This temperature-controlled freezing selectively damages the fat cells while leaving other surrounding tissues unharmed.
After the cooling phase, mild hot water fomentation is done followed by a brief massage with oil or manual manipulation may be performed on the treated area. This helps further break down the crystallized fat cells and enhances the fat elimination process.
Over the weeks following the procedure, the body’s natural metabolic processes gradually eliminate the damaged fat cells. Patients can see visible results within few weeks.
Common side effects include temporary numbness of the treated area, redness, bruising, and mild discomfort at the treatment site. These may resolve within few days.
Cryolipolysis is suitable for individuals who are looking to address specific areas of stubborn fat that have not responded to diet and exercise. IT IS NOT INTENDED AS A WEIGHT LOSS SOLUTION but rather as a method for body contouring and targeting localized fat deposits. Before undergoing Cryolipolysis, it is best to have a consultation with a board-certified dermatologist.
